FAQ
How wide does my shower curb/threshold need to be?
Astro model: minimum 2.125" wide
Eclipse model: minimum 2.75" wide
90° showers: if the return panel lines up with the outside edge, 2.75" is enough. If not, allow at least 3".
For the best fit, contact GW with your curb/threshold measurement to confirm compatibility.
How much overlap will the panels have?
Overlap varies based on your shower size and the model you choose. For more details, please send your dimensions and model to inquiries@glasswarehouse.us, and we’ll be happy to confirm the overlap and walk-through space for you.
What is the walk-through height of the slider showers?
The usable walk-through clearance is about 75". The glass panels themselves are 78" tall.
For bathtub height models, the entrance clearance is 60".
Can I install the door panel to slide on the outside of the fixed panel instead of the inside?
Yes. For Astro and Eclipse models, the fixed panel should be set slightly deeper into the shower space, and the rod can be flipped to the outside. Then just follow the standard installation instructions included with your order. If you’d like help reversing the panels, contact us at (760) 536-3640 or inquiries@glasswarehouse.us.
How do I choose the right size for my space?
Before ordering a GW enclosure, make sure your shower is finished, as measurements change once tile and grout are installed. For dual panel pivot door systems, always order based on your minimum tile-to-tile width. Ordering larger than this minimum will prevent the shower from fitting.
Are shower enclosures reversible?
Yes! Almost all GW showers, including our 90° enclosures, can be installed to open either left- or right-hand to fit your space. The only exceptions are a few specialty styles, such as certain Fluted Sliders, French Monture Sliders, and Fluted Radius Fixed Panels, which require choosing a right- or left-hand model.
Is glass treated with any kind of protective coating?
Yes, all panels are premium tempered glass (3/8" or 5/16") and feature EnduroShield® protection on both sides which helps prevent soap scum, dirt, and other buildup, making cleaning easier, less frequent, and keeping your shower looking like new.
What height options are available?
Full shower models are all 78” tall, except for arch panels which are 86.75” tall. Bathtub models are typically 58.25” tall but range up to 66” depending on the model.
Do stationary panels require silicone?
Yes, applying silicone to the stationary panel is essential. It not only prevents water from leaking but also ensures the integrity, stability, and security of the entire shower enclosure.
Can I adjust the placement of the mounting clips?
Yes, mounting clip placement can be adjusted to fit your needs, as long as the panel is installed according to instructions and sealed with silicone on both the inside and outside where the panel meets the floor and wall.
